Originally from South Carolina, I grew up in Oklahoma. Then in 1990 my mother moved back to Texas in a return to our family roots, which started in Texas in 1855.
Adventuresome and daring, I wanted to see what Texas offered and I found it offers plenty if one is willing to seek it out. It was during this time that I developed my total dissatisfaction of the scented candles I was purchasing in the stores. This led me into a hobby that turned into an unexpected business opportunity.
Experiencing a variety of business positions, it wasn't until 2005 that I found real estate satisfied my need for a changing work environment. I was able to work in the office and still get out in the field and meet with people. While taking the continued education requirement classes, I was able to pass the Texas Dept of Savings and Mortgage Lending pre-licensing exam. Real estate also offered a challenge in that not everyone was able to qualify for the loans they needed to purchase their dream home. Nothing to me was more disappointing than having to let my clients know they could not qualify for the loan due to credit issues, especially when it was something like a collection that thay had paid but it was never removed or something as simple as needing to apply for a secured credit card. This led to my interest in assisting people with credit issues.

 I took up this hobby in 2004 after burning a popular brand of candles from Walmart, which turned my carpet, curtains and blanket black. At that time I didn't know what soot was or where it came from, but after a little research on the Internet I quickly discovered that it came from the candle. Now I was on a mission to learn how to make my own candles. I bought a kit from the local hobby shop and conducted more research online, the choices were endless. In 2005 I started Candles Jess 4 U and built my website. After experimenting with several types and brands of wax, I now offer clean burning Soy and *Soy blend candles. These are guaranteed to smell through out your largest rooms.
